This was a Zoom tasting where all participants were asked to but and taste their own choice of English wines, mainly still ones, and these are the summary comments from the tasters…<\/p>\n

The whites:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. 2013 Camel Valley Bacchus \u2013 has matured beautifully, more depth, bit less fragrance; excellent Denbies Surrey Gold \u2013 fruity, peaches, very refreshing, good with white meat<\/li>\n
  2. 2020 Denbies Litmus Orange Bacchus \u2013 delicious, apricots, light, bit expensive<\/li>\n
  3. 2019 Chapel Down Flint Dry \u2013 fresh, fruity<\/li>\n
  4. Waitrose Blueprint English White \u2013 pale yellow, hints of lime and grapefruit, surprisingly good<\/li>\n
  5. Simpsons Chardonnay – pale yellow, hints of grapefruit, light nose<\/li>\n
  6. 2020 Chapel Down Bacchus \u2013 clean, dry, floral notes, hint of pepper, good<\/li>\n
  7. Marlings A Polite White \u2013 crisp, nicely dry, fruity, will buy again<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The ros\u00e9s:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Furleigh Sea Pink Pinot Noir \u2013 revelation, dark rose, vibrant fruit, getting more in<\/li>\n
    2. 2019 Chapel Down Rose \u2013 very much liked<\/li>\n
    3. Bolney Estate Foxhole Rose \u2013 easy summer wine, will buy again<\/li>\n
    4. Gifford\u2019s Hall Rose \u2013 pale, floral\/liquorice\/strawberry nose, honey, plums, strawberry on palate<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The reds:<\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. 2016 Gusbourne Pinot Noir \u2013 dark red, some good depth and minerality, touch of oak – impressive<\/li>\n
      2. Denbies Redlands Red \u2013 deep red, fruity, hints of strawberry, raspberry, good acidity<\/li>\n
      3. 2018 Bolney Estate Dark Harvest \u2013 hint of blackcurranr, bit thin, improved with time<\/li>\n
      4. Bolney Estate Pinot Noir \u2013 pleasant, fruity, bit light<\/li>\n
      5. Setley Oaked Red \u2013 tannins too high, not liked<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Sparkling:<\/h3>\n
          \n
        1. NV Furleigh Reserve \u2013 biscuit, fine mousse, light flavour, pleasant<\/li>\n
        2. NV Nyetimber Classic Cuvee \u2013 easy drinking sparkler<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
